Summer-to-autumn to do list

To do list:

- Create hay bale compost bin(s)
- set up square foot garden-type trellising in front of them to act as living screens;
- sow the soil in front of the trellises with winter crops that climb (winter squash, beans)
- create hugelkultur beds in the back yard (and possibly the front?), moving the compost heap into the yard and arranging in manageable raised beds.
- cut back the grape vine (year 1) and move all the biomass from the fence line into the beds;
- plant winter cover crop to choke out grass (maybe);
- acquire and establish bare root fruit trees and heirloom roses and tubers (daffodils, crocuses, irises, tulips...) (maybe)

- paint the sun room barely-there yellow and the ceiling a barely-there blue; then paint yellow stone lines over the walls to make it more castle-like for the children;
- Also level the window seat and create a cushion for it.
- strip paint from children's room ceiling; clean.  Put another coat of apricot on their walls and cinnamon trim on the frames; prime and paint the ceiling.
- clean the walls, tarp the floor, tape the trim and paint the upstairs hall;
- strip, sand, clean stairwell walls.  Tape, prime, fill and paint.
- clean downstairs hall. Prime the walls, bag the chandelier, tape the trim, tarp the carpet and paint the downstairs hall.
- Add another coat of in-your-face yellow to the kitchen.  Carry it out to the laundry/pantry.
- Get out the projector...see if it will center a talavera ceramic pattern on the kitchen ceiling.

Close the gaping hole in the upper stair hall by whatever means possible to present a finished look.

- Clean out and organize pantry closet/cupboard.
- clean out and organize downstairs bath.  Install better accommodation (shelving/lighting/storage/towel racks)
- clean out and organize children's closet.  Install better accommodation (customize shelving and drawer options.)
- Clean out and organize upstairs linen closet.

- color is needed in dining room and living room.  Dining room walls need plaster patching, too, where hooks have hung.
- both bathrooms are very obviously "works in progress" as I'm still struggling to eradicate all the pink our house came with.  Big goal is to make them look less like construction sites and more like finished spaces.

- Take art out of attic purgatory and reintroduce throughout the house.
- Add more customized pieces, particularly of the children or with the children, to every room.

- Find more space in the kitchen.  Cull unused pots; give away spice bottles; complete Wish List purchases; something.

Time frame: 3 months.  The larger changes need to be in place for the family to become used to within 3 months.

Reality update will be added in a few months' time.  Anything I can do with materials already on hand should be no problem.  As for artistic ability, we'll see.
