Safety tip: don't serve up juice during hot days at the zoo.

How was the trip, you ask? A 6-hour round trip to fill out paperwork, answer a few questions, allow for observation of our interaction with our daughter and be given 4 separate appointments over the course of the next five months. We were a total of 1 hour in the actual hospital.

Aside from and more important than the combined 24 hours of driving time, that's half a school year that we could be assisting our little girl in the classroom. Needless to say, Jesse is not amused.

We took the girls to the zoo and plied them with water and juice all day. Unfortunately, the day was a humid one; Caoimhe ended up with a mild case of heat stroke, the poor mite. Next time, we may try to find a shaded park.

In the interim, calls! Lots of phone time as we struggle to get appointments moved up so that it isn't November before the final consultation.

Let's just say Cincinnati Children's is not exactly our fave spot at this moment.
