Round and round and round...

(Yoda voice:) Back from Cincinnati this round we are.

Caoimhe:
Thankfully, this past visit went much more smoothly than I'd feared. Instead of the Lasix test, Lilibet only had an ultrasound done. The u/s revealed that while her kidneys are growing, so is the blockage. The look of concern that flashed across the urologist's eyes struck ice across our hearts momentarily. He turned to us with a smile, however, and said he wanted some blood work done to determine if Caoimhe's kidneys are actually doing their job and cleaning her system as they ought.

Blood was given and off we went to the Children's Museum--our first visit but I can already tell this will be a new favorite.

Then back in the car for our 3 hour drive home. Thursday, Jesse pounced on the phone faster than a teenager waiting for a call from the cool kid. Every ring was potentially from the doctor with the lab results. Unfortunately, we heard nothing Thursday or Friday. Research revealed that this curious oversight was a result of the urologist being in the clinic one full day and in surgery the next with nary a moment to glance at his inbox. How dare there be other children who are suffering! (I pray for each and every one of them, and am so grateful for my baby's health.)

Monday, hopefully, we'll get word on whether our almost-2-year-old goes under the knife immediately or can wait a few more months.

Aria:
Aria's visit to Cincinnati was nothing more than an intake appointment. We drove that far only to be told that appointments would be set up over the course of 5 months, at the end of which time a doctor would review everything and proceed from there. Autism spectrum disorder may not be determined for 1 or more years.

On the up side, Aria's teachers believe she may be fully caught up with her peers socially by next year.

Even better, no fevers this week! Woohoo!!!!
