Goings on

We're going to Cincinnati two days after my perfect baby sister's birthday to let Aria play with and be observed by the Children's Hospital's developmental experts. (That's May 26 for those not up to date on Perfect Sister trivia, otherwise known as "all things Caryn".)

Speaking of Caryn, she is the most adorable preggers woman on the planet! Oh. My. Goodness. is my sister cute. She is safely past the first tri-mester and it looks like we'll have a post-Thanksgiving baby staring at us this year (hopefully.) Needless to say, Jesse and I will be celebrating Christmas in MO this year with family.

Other trips this year fall right around my cousins' birthdays in CO. Caoimhe ("KEE-va") is scheduled in Cincinnati for testing June 16 -- the 'regular check-up' entailing my precious toddler being held in place on a table by sandbags, catheterized, with needles holding tubes in place on her naked little body, for 3 solid hours. Fun times.

I don't know what hurts me more: that she submitted so willingly to this treatment during her first 6 months because it was her normality at that time, or only being able to croon and stroke her little head now that she knows there is more in this world than antiseptic hospital rooms and glove-clad hands.

Regardless, we'll take our usual two days for this trip so will be available again by June 18th barring any unforeseen circumstances.
