Caoimhe's health circa August 2009

By the way, the reason there've been no updates is that we have none ourselves. Funny, that.

Caoimhe had her ultrasounds done locally for a refreshing change. Results were sent off to Cincinnati, where they were promptly lost. After a 2 week delay and much finger drumming, someone finally admitted this and asked that we re-send. Which we did. Which is why we got a call from the pediatric nephrologist's office. Not the doctor calling to tell us his findings, but his office -- to state that we need to schedule another Lasix test in Cincinnati immediately.

Well, that's helpful.

So off we go next week to torture our precious infant for hours on end so that we can be told:
- we'll have to do this again in 6 months,
- yes, there's still a blockage in her kidneys,
- no we don't know what it is, and
- the infinitely reassuring capper: she may never have normal kidneys.

Way to brush up on the bedside manner, doc.

I'll update once this visit is over. However, if all you see is "I told you so", then please simply re-read today's post to discover what happened.
